After a hard-fought draw in Lisbon, Arsenal returned to the English capital to go to Craven Cottage Arena. The opponents of the team were strong Fulham. They showed a very confident game, scored three goals before the break, and killed all the intrigue in the match – a 3:0 win. The club took another step toward the Premier League title. Arsenal continues to be five points ahead of Manchester City.
Sporting stayed in the Portuguese capital after a home game against Arsenal. Last weekend, the team faced Boavista at home in the next round of the Primera. The Lions met with no resistance and clinched a confident 3:0 win. Sporting takes fourth place in the Portuguese league table with 50 points.
Sporting is no longer fighting for the Primera title in the current campaign. The club is even behind Braga in the fight for third place and qualification to the Champions League. A good performance on the European stage now could fix the Lisbon club’s situation. Arsenal is the absolute favorite of this pairing, but we cannot discount the team of Ruben Amorim. In Lisbon, Sporting showed that they could create problems for the Gunners. We believe this will also be a productive encounter with goals from both teams.
