Telecom Italia has asked for clarifications on an offer made by a consortium comprising Italian state-owned financial holding Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CdP) and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets for NetCo, the vehicle that will contain its fixed network, Il Sole 24 Ore reported. The consortium’s offer expires on 31 March and was expected to be examined by the TIM board yesterday.

CVC Capital Partners and Advent International are exploring offers to acquire a minority interest in the aircraft maintenance and repair business of German airliner Deutsche Lufthansa, Bloomberg reported. Blackstone and Bain Capital have also shown interest in the unit. The unit may be worth more than €6bn. Non-binding offers are anticipated to be received in April.

EDP Renováveis, a Spanish energy company subsidiary of Portuguese power group EDP, has just put on the market a portfolio of 256 megawatts (MW) of wind power already operational in different regions of Spain whose value may be close to €500m, Expansion reported. The company has already distributed the teaser for the transaction throughout the market. The transaction could interest sovereign and pension funds, as well as infrastructure funds and insurance companies.

State-owned telecoms provider Telekom Srbija is weighing a sale of its telecom towers in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, Mergermarket reported. Deloitte and UniCredit are believed to have been mandated to guide the divestment process. Around 1,800 towers are slated for sale, of which some 1,000 are located in Serbia and around 700 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The price tag is forecast between €400m and €500m.

Multiple global private equity (PE) funds, including Goldman Sachs, CVC Capital Partners and Blackstone, are considering submitting bids to acquire a controlling stake in Belgium-based International Gemological Institute (IGI), The Economic Times reported. The deal may value IGI at between $250m-$300m. China’s Fosun International, which purchased 80% stake in IGI in 2018, has decided to put IGI on the block, with Deutsche Bank acting as the sell-side adviser.
