Manushi Chhillar, the former Miss World winner and Bollywood actor, has the fashion world in a chokehold with her sartorial sense, which pervades both her on-screen persona and off-screen avatar.
So, it was obvious that when Manushi made her debut at the London Fashion Week 2023 (LFW), all the fashion enthusiasts would be buzzing with excitement. And it did happen when she walked down the ramp for Rocky Star, a Mumbai-based designer who has been creating waves in the industry with his fashion-forward design aesthetic.
Presenting his collection ‘Damned Soul- An Eruption’ at LFW, Rocky Star’s inspiration lies in the most valuable asset, which is often neglected in our never-ending quest to stay ahead in life, ‘our mental serenity’. “The collection features both avant-garde and wearable, recognizable, timeless and opulent shapes. Ivory, black, burgundy, grey, and gold, which stand for the human experience of angst, are used in the colour theory to symbolize the release of a dark soul,” he said in a press statement.
Influenced by the Baroque art movement, his collection is a perfect blend of contemporary style and stunning craftsmanship, sequin embroidery, metallic fabric texture, and signature Baroque print.
Wearing the same was Manushi, who looked gorgeous in a black bodycon gown, featuring a semi-sheer fabric on the bust and arms, padded shoulders, and a waistbelt detailing with exaggerated proportions. The figure-hugging silhouette of the stunning ensemble accentuated her svelte figure.
She accessorised it with diamond drop earrings and chunky black platform heels. Her middle-parted sleek hairdo and glam makeup, which include a nude lip, glittery eyeshadow and rouged cheeks, further amplified her glamourous appearance.

Rocky Star remained true to his design sensibility in this collection, which presents Baroque and gothic style in a luxurious yet simplistic way. “Creating a neo-Victorian era, Rocky Star celebrates the grandeur of the past in the present with glamourous and edgy designs. Old world charm comes to life with a new-age magic in dramatic silhouettes, decorative prints and intricate embroideries,” it reads on his website.
In an interview with ANI, Manushi revealed her excitement about her debut at LFW. “I am thrilled about my debut at London Fashion Week 2023. It’s a chance to proudly represent India and its remarkable fashion heritage on a global platform,” she said.
