In conjunction with the state sales tax holiday, the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce is holding a Back to School Shop and Win contest beginning Friday through Aug. 14.
During the same period, the state sales tax will fall from 6.25% to 1.25% for eligible school supplies with a retail value of less than $125, including school uniforms and backpacks.
There are two easy steps to follow to be eligible for a drawing for one of three Chamber Checks worth $100 each. First, spend $20 or more at any local retailer. Second, email a photo of the receipt with name and phone number to chamber2@jacksonvilleareachamber.org or drop it off at the chamber offices, 155 W. Morton Ave.
All entries will be entered into the drawing sponsored by Brown’s Shoe Fit, Leisure Pool and Cass Communications. Shopping at chamber member locations earns a bonus entry. All retail purchases are eligible for the drawing.
Winners will be drawn on Facebook Live at noon Aug. 16.
