Jaipur: It’s just not Rajasthan
or India where the foreign tourist arrivals are yet to reach the pre-Covid levels, South Africa too has witnessed a similar trend. Last year, the Rainbow Nation received 8 million arrivals against 10 million in 2019, said a senior official of South African tourism during a roadshow here. The country expects to cross the 10 million mark this year.
Neliswa Nkani, hub head – Middle East, India and South East Asia, South African Tourism, said, “This year, we will cross the 10 million mark.South Africa witnessed 43% uptick in inbound travellers from India in 2023. The country continues to hold its prominence as our top-3 focus markets.”
Rajasthan accounted for 26% of the 79,000 Indian visitors to South Africa last year. The roadshow was attended by 250 Indian travel trade delegates from across Jaipur as well as 40 other cities of the country. TNN
