Ager earns All-American honors
Wesleyan junior Stephanie Ager added a new accolade to her long list of accomplishments following her performance at the NCAA Division 3 Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Bellows Falls alum was named an All-American after racing to a 20th place finish. Ager completed the 6k course in 21:30.1 to become just the sixth cross-country runner from Wesleyan to earn All-American honors.
Ager also earned All-NESCAC, All-Region, and All-New England honors for the third straight year.
Several local football players earn All-State honors
Following a 7-3 campaign that ended in an appearance in the state semifinals, the Bellows Falls Terriers had 10 different players receive All-State honors in Division 2.
Offensively, it was no surprise to see senior running back Carson Clark earn first team honors as the lead back on a run-heavy team. Senior quarterback Eli Allbee and lineman Rylan Ernst joined Clark on the first team. The Terriers were also represented on the second team by lineman Steven Joslyn and Brockton Lovell and running back Patrick Connors earned a spot on the honorable mention list.
Defensively, the Terriers featured four first team members, including defensive end Conner Perry, linebacker Patrick Connors, and defensive backs Eli Allbee and Jaden Bazin. Lineman Brockton Lovell and linebacker Josh Streeter made the second team, and linebacker Will Hallock made the honorable mention list.
Springfield also featured 10 different players on the All-State squad after reaching the Division 3 semifinals for the second straight year.
Standout sophomore running back Josiah Martinez was joined by lineman Trevor Carl and Hunter Ferland on the first team offense. Lineman Jonathan Lake was also recognized, receiving an honorable mention nod. The playmaking abilities of Cameron Williams were recognized by naming him as a first team returner.
The Cosmos swarming defense was given its due, receiving five first team players. Lineman Trevor Carl and Hunter Ferland, linebackers Dmitri Jasinski and Dillan Lacasse, and defensive back Cameron Williams were the first teamers for Springfield. Lineman Riley Snide, linebacker Landon Truell, and defensive back Maddox Wilson were recognized on the honorable mention list.
Despite a challenging season which resulted in a 1-7 record, the Windsor Yellow Jackets had nine players announced to the Division 3 team.
Running backs Justin Draper and Gavin Martin, and lineman Joey Gaudette earned first team honors, and quarterback Tanner Crane made the second team.
Draper, Gaudette, and Martin also led the Yellow Jackets on defense, earning first team honors as linebacker. Defensive back Morgan Johnson made the second team, while lineman Nick LaDuke and defensive back Turtle Petschke earned spots on the honorable mention list.
Punter Tristen Merrill (first team) and returner Aiden Doxter (second team) also received All-State honors for Windsor.
