A busy period in golf continues and this week we head to Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio for the 2023 Memorial Tournament where we are offering up some of our very own betting tips and predictions.

This year’s defending champion is world number 35 Billy Horschel, who beat Aaron Wise by four shots with a score of -13. The 36-year-old is available at a price of 110/1 with golf betting sites.
The course at Muirfield Village was opened in May 1974, hosting the first Memorial Tournament two years later. Nicklaus intended to create a tournament that had a global interest, inspired by the game’s history and tradition – similar to The Masters.
The Memorial Tournament is one of only five tournaments given ‘invitational’ status by the PGA Tour and has a smaller field of 120 players. The winner is granted a three-year exemption by the tour, on par with winners of the World Golf Championships, The Tour Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Bold bunkering, water hazards and narrow fairways require pinpoint accuracy off the tee, another similarity to Augusta National. The course underwent an extensive renovation after the tournament in 2020, with new tees added on five holes.

Jon Rahm is no stranger to Muirfield Village and won The Memorial back in 2020, finishing with a score of nine-under to beat Ryan Palmer by three shots despite shooting a three-over-par final round 75 in Ohio.
Rahm ranks 17th amongst the PGA in strokes gained off the tee this season and tasted success at a similar course in April, winning The Masters to mark his second major title.
The Spaniard will look to put a disappointing PGA Championship weekend behind him, finishing in a tie for 50th at seven-over-par. Of his 13 PGA Tour events this season, Rahm has finished in the top ten on nine occasions including four wins.
Rahm’s prior winning experience here and impressive form coupled with an ideal course profile could be exactly what he needs to add another piece of silverware to the trophy cabinet.
Amongst players who have played at least eight rounds at Muirfield Village since 2018, Rahm leads the way in strokes gained at +3.51 followed by Patrick Cantlay (+3.06), Collin Morikawa (+2.37) and Scottie Scheffler (+2.12).
