NASHVILLE – The NFL Draft is now just over a week away.

Currently, the Titans are scheduled to make two picks – 7th overall (in the first round), and 38th overall (in the second round) – in the first two days of the draft.

Today, NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah held his annual pre-draft conference call with reporters across the country.

So, I asked Jeremiah what the best-case scenario for the Titans might be over the first two days.

Here’s what Jeremiah said:

“To me, at seven, it almost feels like you’re in a spot there (in Tennessee) where the left tackle position is going to force your hand, and that’s not a bad thing in this draft – I think there’s great options there,” Jeremiah said. “It feels like from the very beginning of this process Joe Alt has been connected to (the Titans) at that spot. There’s a chance, we’ll see what happens with the Chargers (at pick 5) – what do they do? They potentially could be an offensive line team, and I wouldn’t even rule out the Giants (at 6) as maybe a sneaky offensive line team.

“But I think there’s still a good chance that Joe Alt is staring (the Titans) right in the face, and I think that is a home run pick, a safe, secure, solid player, who I think has some upside as well. I like the fact you have a high floor, a high ceiling with him. That would be the home run pick for me at 7.”

In his most recent mock draft, Jeremiah has the Titans taking Alt with the 7th overall pick, after quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and J.J McCarthy go off the board at picks 1-4, followed by receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.

Jeremiah will unveil his final mock next week, before the draft kicks off on Thursday in Detroit.

With the 38th overall pick, as Jeremiah continued his thoughts on a best-case scenario for the Titans, he gave the team a defensive player.

“You look at a couple of different area they could go,” Jeremiah said of the Titans, and pick 38. “Defensive tackle being one, and edge rusher. So, (looking) at guys who could be in that mix, I would say Darius Robinson could factor in that a little bit, from Missouri, and he could actually do a little bit of both of those things. He was better this last year coming off the edge, as opposed to the year before as an interior guy, but I think he gives you some versatility there.

“So that would be a pretty good line of scrimmage combination there, if you went with Alt and then came back with Darius Robinson and the top of the second round.”
