The Mahoning Valley Chapter Sons of the American Revolution recently met at Sabi’s restaurant in Columbiana for the annual election of officers. New President Steve Barlow of East Liverpool, left, is receiving the gavel from outgoing president Jonathan Guerrier from Austintown. Barlow and his wife Nancy, who is in the Ladies Auxiliary, have been very active with the chapter over the past several years and are currently gearing up for an active season of activities. Barlow is the first resident from Columbiana County to hold the office. The SAR is a descendant organization whose ancestors either served as soldiers or public officials during the United States successful struggle for independence. (Submitted photo)
